Andrew Sleigh knows the pace of a busy professional life. With a background in the financial industry, responsibilities and tasks can quickly fill the available space. Even worthwhile work can leave little room for stillness.

Andrew came from a Baptist background, while his wife had been a lifelong Catholic. Their journey together included experience within different churches and a continuing desire to grow in faith. Made for More offered Andrew an opportunity to pause within that journey.

His principal takeaway was simple but demanding: slow down and reconnect with God through prayer. Busyness can make constant activity feel necessary, even when the activity itself is good. The retreat reminded Andrew that disciples also need to step back, become quiet and receive peace.

He describes Made for More as revival, recharge and rest. These are not escapes from Christian responsibility. They are ways of recovering the spiritual strength needed to return to life with renewed attention and purpose.

Andrew compared that renewal to putting on the armour of God again before returning to the battlefield of daily life. The retreat provided a place to remember where strength comes from and to allow prayer to become central again.

He believes the experience can benefit people wherever they may be on their walk of faith. Someone beginning again and someone who has followed Christ for many years may need different things, but both can receive something through silence, teaching, prayer and reflection.

Andrew's story offers a timely reminder: spiritual renewal often begins not by adding another task, but by stopping. When we slow down, we create room to hear God again and return to our responsibilities with greater peace.
