Stories of
MADE FOR MORE
CHERYL REED
Room for More
Parishioner of St Peter Chanel Parish, New Zealand
“There is always room for change, and there is always room for more.”
Cheryl Reed found Made for More rich in material for the Christian journey. The retreat contained much to receive, but its value did not rest only in the quantity of teaching. It brought together renewal, refreshment and new invitations for growth.
Some parts returned Cheryl to truths and practices she had known previously. Remembering can itself be a form of renewal. Important things are easily displaced by routine, responsibility and the passage of time. A retreat creates space to receive them again.
Other parts offered something new. They invited Cheryl to consider where she might improve, respond differently or continue changing. Christian maturity does not mean becoming static. Faith remains alive when a person stays open to reflection, renewal and conversion.
This led Cheryl to one of the clearest insights of her experience: there is always room for change and always room for more. The “more” is not simply more activity or information. It is the possibility of becoming more fully who we are meant to be and who Christ calls us to become.
Cheryl also recognized that the retreat could serve people at different ages and stages. Those beginning their journey can receive a foundation, while mature Christians can recover forgotten truths and discover new ways of living them. Younger and older participants both have something to receive.
Her testimony presents Made for More as neither a one-time emotional experience nor a course reserved for beginners. It is a space where Christians can pause, review the direction of their lives and become open again to what Christ may be asking of them now.
