CHRIST-LIKE LISTENING

Formation for Supporting One Another in Faith

NO ONE SHOULD WALK IN FAITH ALONE
Learn to listen like Christ
—and become a presence others can trust.
Many believe.
Many pray.
Many belong to parishes, ministries, and small groups.
Yet many still carry their deepest questions, struggles, and wounds alone.
Our communities do not simply need more advice.
They need people who know how to remain present.
People who can listen without fixing.
Discern without judging.
Accompany without controlling.

CHRIST-LIKE LISTENING
Christ-Like Listening is a practical formation in peer-to-peer faith support.
It helps ordinary Christians listen, encourage, discern, and walk beside one another with maturity and the attentive presence of Christ.
Open to everyone, it is especially valuable for those involved in small groups, parish life, or ministry who want to take their faith—and their responsibility for others—more seriously.
It is an invitation to move beyond living faith only for ourselves and to become parents of faith: mature disciples who help others recognize how Christ is already present and at work in their lives.
Part One is where that journey begins.
WHAT YOU’LL learn
During the formation, participants will learn to:

Listen without immediately reacting or trying to fix

Become more fully present to another person
-

THE CLL FORMATION PATHWAY
80 hours. Three stages. One shared way of listening.
Christ-Like Listening is more than a three-day seminar. It is a journey from learning, to practice, to deeper discernment.
PART ONE · 20 HOURS
Learn Christ’s way of listening and the foundations of the method.
PRACTICE · 40 HOURS
Practise in small groups, supported by reading, reflection, and clear guidance.
PART TWO · 20 HOURS
Deepen your listening, discernment, and ability to support others faithfully.
Three people. One hour. A shared path.
One person speaks. One listens. One observes.
Then the roles change.
This simple rhythm allows everyone to receive support and learn how to support others. A shared map keeps each conversation safe, focused, and centred on Christ—without turning it into counselling or spiritual direction.

MORE THAN A SEMINAR
Christ-Like Listening is not simply information to understand. It is a way of relating to others that develops through continued practice.
Participants are invited to move:
From reacting to becoming present
From fixing to peer-to-peer support
From surface conversation to meaningful encounter
From carrying faith alone to walking together
This formation can strengthen the way people listen within their families, friendships, parishes, ministries, and small groups.
